“We clean your dress, not your wallet”

Travelling through the big city of Accra, by bus, by car or by foot will confront you with an amazing quantity of dust and exhaust fumes etc. The moist hot climate will make you longing for a clean shirt a couple of times a day. During the dry season the red sand blown up by the wind will color your clothes. Children, coming from school, playing on the way home, will make their school uniforms dirty.

These environmental conditions were seen as an opportunity by one of the entrepreneurs. He had a shop in Accra for some time before he left for the Netherlands. In the Netherlands he owned a Call Centre. This entrepreneur developed the idea of starting a cleaning service in Accra. The entrepreneur participated in the IntEnt training programme and developed a business plan to ensure that his business idea was feasible.

The entrepreneur bought washing machines, a dryer and an ironing machine. The Laundromat is established in one of the well developed suburbs of Accra employing four professionals. His customers consist of individuals, hotels and companies. The entrepreneur plans to buy a delivery van to increase the service of the Laundromat.
