Ghana is one of the most stable political and economical countries in the Sub-Saharan region. De last years the economical growth was more than 7% annually. The Ghanaian government is high ranked on the world scale of investment reforms. They developed special investment schemes and they are now more focusing on small and medium enterprises (SME).

Returning Enterprising Migrants Adding Development and Employment (REMADE) The EU project REMADE is a partnership between HIVOS, AFFORD from the UK and EMPRETEC from GHANA.

The overall objective is to strengthen the link between migration and development by fostering the Diaspora to strengthen the bonds with their communities of origin, make their remittances more effective and promote circular migration and counter brain-drain by development of the private sector in Ghana.

The specific role of the REMADE partners is to help establish healthy SME’s by focusing on the development of entrepreneurship in Ghana. IntEnt has developed a specific program that enables returning migrants to set up a business in their country of origin through personal assistance and guidance. By means of implementing these practical and usable entrepreneurial skills, they have been successful in not only providing for themselves and their family but also in contributing to the development of the local economy in a concrete and tangible way.
